Trapani Segesta best beautiful Greek archaeological sites
Segesta (Ancient Greek: Ἔγεστα Egesta; Sicilian: Siggésta) was one of the major cities of the Elymian people, one of the three indigenous peoples of Sicily. The other major cities of the Elymians were Eryx and Entella.
The countryside leading up to the Segesta site is gorgeous especially in May when all the fields are in bloom with flowers and it’s not too hot. Worth taking the shuttle bus to the ampitheater…one of few left without modern seating added.
