MOZIAThe Stagnone Lagoon is just a paradise for kite surfers and everybody who love sports, basic and advanced courses of kiting in Sicily, near Trapani airport and natural reserve Lo Stagnone Marsala, between wind mills and archaeological finds of Mozia island – kite rent, kite shipping, holiday packages for the clients of the school.The road from Trapani to Marsala borders the edge of the lagoon and Mothia Island . Enjoy special views of the local saltworks: panels of mirror-like water, detained by thin tiles of earth, with  an irregular form and scene. In seats, the profile of a windmill may be distinguished, a reminder of when windmill  provided the main resources of pumping the water from the sea and grinding the salt.The sight is even more outstanding in summer when the salt is ready to be collected: The rose-pink hues of the concentrated saline contained in the outer pans vie with those towards the centre of a deeper colour, while the deepest, now dry, sparkle in the sunshine.Since 1984, Mozia lagoon has been nominated a natural reserve of special interest.This area ranges into the sea, and includes the section of coastline between Punta Alga and Capo San Teodoro. The water here is light and very very salty, the ideal circumstances for salt works to be set up all along the coast and on Isola Lunga, where it soon became the main industry; many of these have since decreased into disuse.
