Casa delle conchiglie 8 sleeps

Casa delle Conchiglie is a comfortable 4-bedroom beach house, ideal for nature lovers, offering you direct access to a beautiful  sandy beach.

Comfortable interiors blend with expanses of exterior decking dotted with a fresh relax zones make this beach house a perfect shelter for sea lovers and for all who want to explore western Sicily.

Inside: the property is stylishly and simply decorated throughout, with neutral colors. It has been made original and unique by the personal taste of the owner who has collected for ages shells and everything can be found simply doing snorkeling into the cool and calm sea near the house: such as archaeological finds, or objects related to fishing activities.

The bedrooms are all compact and cozy. The master bedroom has a double bed with entrance views and en-suit sink. The second bedroom is a double/twin, while the third has a double bed and garden views. On the other side of the house also a lovely cozy bedroom with french bed. These bedrooms share a bathroom into the house and another bathroom with shower with access from the veranda.

A well-equipped kitchen featuring a big fridge with freezer, 2 rings stove, 2 cupboards and microwever and extra freezer, has direct access to the veranda.


To the side of the house is a sheltered and shaded dining and living area, an excellent spot for al fresco meals and features a  charming marble and wrougth iron console a large table for up to 12 people and a relax zone on the other side of the veranda. Opposite to the veranda a built -in barbeque area with outdoor kitchen and a selection of Mediterranean shrubs. There is also an outside shower.

It is on the large covered front terrace, where you will probably spend most of your time, gazing out to sea, raising a toast to the sinking sun and enjoying convivial dinners with your family and friends. This because the living area has been set in the shaded veranda, with white sofas and comfy-cushioned lounging gathered in front of a lovely courtyard.

The “pane and panelle” classic example of “street food”

Find a good deep frying shop immediately after the Porta Garibaldi right on the stairs of the fish market. Typical dish of the tip of western Sicily: the fish couscous. A version of a very refined and tasty dish of Arab heritage. The couscous is made from grains of durum wheat semolina steamed in a broth of fish and shellfish that uses a bit ‘ of all the varieties of the Mediterranean. You definitely will find it in the cities of Marsala and Trapani.

Island of Mozia – Stroll the archaeological on the road of the Phoenicians

Within walking distance from the mainland, surrounded by shallow water and easily defendable, Mozia is one of the Phoenician colonies of strategic importance for trade routes in the Mediterranean. In 397 BC Mozia set on fire by the Greeks and vanishes from history. H. Schliemann, the archaeologist of Troy, arrives there without recognizing it. In 1913 the G. Whitaker found during his excavations. Today Mozia offers a unique archaeological tour immersed in the enchanting Natural Reserve of Stagnone. Do not miss the museum with the “Young Man of Mozia” and the picnic under the pine trees.

Saline Ettore and Infersa – A job heroic draws a marvelous landscape

On the coast of the Stagnone in summer shine piles of salt and salt marshes, strewn with windmills, they turn pink. Leading voice of the economy since 1300 A.D. today this salt harvested by hand is a niche product. The salt marshes are also a destination for protected migratory birds such as herons, flamingos … Do not miss a visit to the museum: the mill with millstones, the videos on the workmanship of salt, the purchase of products of saline and curious jewelry “salt dough” that look like corals!
